Christ’s Church Academy hosted its 9th annual Love Out Loud week in February. Each year, kindergarten through twelfth grade students are involved in a variety projects that support local community service organizations as well as international missions.
The school integrates an instructional foundation for community philanthropy into its annual curriculum to give students the opportunity to experience the joy of serving and seeing others blessed. Christ’s Church Academy believes that encouraging students to volunteer among those in the community that experience different societal and economic challenges, not only develops empathy and depth of character, but also lays a foundation for a desire of lifelong service.
Some of the organizations that have participated are North Florida School of Special Education, Feeding Northeast Florida, Mandarin Food Bank, Arc of Jacksonville, Baptist Children’s Home, Rethreaded, Augustine Landing assisted living community, Dignity U Wear, and Cup of Love.
This year students will support Blessings in a Backpack, an organization that mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
