MT. ACOSTA CLASSIC ENDURANCE RACE

A unique running and cycling event that supports the Jared Bynum Scholarship Foundation, the Mt. Acosta Classic challenges endurance athletes to traverse the St. Johns River mainstay Acosta Bridge as many times as possible within the set 3-hour time limit. Haskell, the race’s founding supporter, provides the venue and race planning and management.

The race and foundation were initiated to honor a beloved Haskell team member, Jared Bynum, by assisting Julia Landon Middle School students in their pursuit of a college dream. The foundation focuses on those students who have overcome early childhood challenges and aspire to achieve a college education. The time invested by volunteer mentors like Jared ensures that these “at risk” students beat the odds and have an opportunity to achieve greatness in their lives.
