Major food donation from Harveys Supermarket helps feed Northeast Florida

Harveys Supermarket presented Feeding Northeast Florida with $25,000 donation of fresh produce and own-brand shelf-stable products during a community mobile pantry event July 6 at the Paxon Revival Church.

Southeastern Grocers, Inc. (SEG), parent company of BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores, together with the SEG Gives Foundation, has launched a company-wide Hunger Relief Program with dedicated partner, Feeding America®, to continue the fight against hunger.

On July 6, Harveys Supermarket presented Feeding Northeast Florida with a $25,000 donation of fresh produce and own-brand shelf-stable products for a free community mobile pantry event at Paxon Revival Church on Commonwealth Avenue on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The donation was part of a larger effort in partnership with Feeding America® food banks to host mobile food pantries across the Southeast. As part of their ongoing effort to fight food insecurity, SEG will distribute more than $150,000 of needed food to neighbors in need and provide associates the hands-on opportunity to positively impact communities in the Southeast.

More than 200 families line up to receive free food, donated by Harveys Supermarket, in conjunction with Feeding NE Florida, July 6, at Paxon Revival Church.

Harveys associates join Feeding Northeast Florida staff to distribute fresh produce and own-brand shelf-stable products to more than 200 families in need.
