Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax) received the prestigious Bill Soforenko Affordable Housing Award at its annual Installation of officers and board members event on Jan. 18, 2019. Presented by the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), the award is named after former NEFBA president Bill Soforenko (1972-1973), a local champion for affordable housing. The organization bestows this honor on persons or organizations who demonstrate a passion for sustained affordable housing efforts in Northeast Florida.
“We are honored to be the recipient of the Bill Soforenko Affordable Housing Award,” Mary Kay O’Rourke, president and CEO of HabiJax, said. “It is exciting to be recognized for our commitment to providing and enhancing affordable homeownership opportunities in our community for the last 30 years.”
