Subway, local USO team up to thank active service members

Over 7,000 locally owned Subway® restaurants raised more than $73,000 during an in-store promotion for the United Service Organizations (USO) that was transferred into Subway gift cards and sent to USO chapters for distribution to active service members.

During the promotion, guests were encouraged to add a drink to their meal at participating Subway restaurants from Aug. 17 through Nov. 1, 2018.  This is an example of how Subway and Coca Cola are serving as a Force Behind the ForcesSM by helping the USO keep service members connected to family, home and country.

The Greater Jacksonville Area USO chapter received 400 Subway gift cards and handed them out to service members at a monthly “No Dough Dinner” held for active service members and their families on January 7.

“We have a lot of young, enlisted families who are benefiting from these perks and it’s really great to see a company like Subway and Coca-Cola step up and lend a hand. I know the service members enjoy these types of gifts,” said Greater Jacksonville Area USO Executive Director Mike O’Brien, who organized the event to distribute the Subway gift cards.
