The team, volunteers and pets at Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) received BIG expressions of love with the award of a $400,000 grant presented by the Petco Foundation. Petco is a national nonprofit working to inspire and lead change for animals.
Petco representatives made a surprise visit to the City’s animal shelter to host a Valentine’s Day celebration, complete with a catered lunch, gifts for ACPS pets, staff and volunteers and an oversized check for $400,000. The grant award is part the more than $14 million investment the Petco Foundation is making in animal welfare organizations across the nation.
“The Petco Foundation has been a long-term partner in supporting ACPS’ efforts in improving the lives of pets, citizens and communities throughout Jacksonville,” said Stephanie Burch, director of the City of Jacksonville Neighborhoods Department. “This grant will go a long way to helping our shelter pets find their forever homes.”
